The Music Story Behind The ‘Descendants’ Movie From DeathbedFood Photographer Jesse Gift
The Los Angeles Film Critics’ Association just named the Fox Searchlight film, “the Descendants,” (written and directed by Alexander Payne and starring George Clooney) best movie of the year. My photographer/videographer, Jesse Gift, just created a beautiful video about the making of the movie’s musical score by his friend, Primetime Emmy Winner and music producer, Richard Ford, who was “Executive Music Producer” for the movie.
I’m lucky to have Jesse as part of Team DeathbedFood as he brings more than 20 years of national TV news and entertainment show experience to the blog, including having won a Primetime Emmy for some of his work with NBC News! Yes, sometimes I do my own photography but, most of the time, I’m fortunate to have him doing it. We work well together in general, with me serving as Director of Client Development and Social Media Evangelism for him at Jesse Gift Media.
For Richard’s video, Jesse was charged with highlighting how a musical score for the film was made using pre-existing music … something that is not typically done for large-scale Hollywood movies. Here, Jesse beautifully intertwines how Richard selected and used the Hawaiian music for the film with actual clips from the film itself:
You may see more of Jesse’s work, including the new Multimedia Cooking App he recently created for Farina Kingsley (“Farina’s Asian Pantry“) on his website. And stay tuned to DeathbedFoodTV for exciting new DeathbedFood story videos we’re working on now!
